Second Installment of Letter from the Pink Palace

Dear DP Alumni,

Welcome to the second installment of Letter from the Pink Palace! My name is Jesse, and I have the absolute privilege of serving as the 139th President of the Daily Pennsylvanian.

In these letters, we will highlight the work of students and alumni throughout the week, share fun stories, and provide resources for all of us to thrive. You will get a glimpse of what the pink palace looks like today, and you are certainly welcomed to submit questions, comments, and content to us to be featured as well!

In the coming weeks, we will also share opportunities of how you can become more involved with the DP and its students, so stay tuned.

I hope you enjoy this first letter and the ones to come (follow us on social media)! Please let me know if you have any questions, and stay tuned.

Best,

Jesse Zhang

Advancing The DP… Together! A Message From Steven Molberger, Director of Development

THANK YOU! Your willingness as a community of donors to increase your collective and individual giving over the last three years has helped chart a new financial trajectory and strategic course for our organization. Your generosity continues to support our operations and the dream of owning our own home and grasping control of our future will soon be our reality.

The last year has not been easy, our students and professionals have been stretched and challenged in unparalleled ways. Yet still as the dust settles on 2022, the DP remains strong and ready to move forward like never before. We are always ultimately committed to preparing students for careers in media, journalism, business, organizational leadership and more. You, our alumni, are proof of our concept and that the late nights, the deadlines, the tough decisions and meaningful conversations are worth the outcomes for our students and organization.

We look forward to an unprecedented year ahead. A building purchase and renovations, the establishment of a supporting foundation, and the shoring up of our financial and operational future. This is a moment like no other for our organization and your ability to give and provide will be what makes it a launching pad for future generations. The Daily Pennsylvanian is one of Penn’s oldest and celebrated traditions. As we transform, we will stay committed to honoring the legacies of all who came before, while ensuring that the experiences and opportunities are better for those who come after.

If you have not made your annual gift in 2022 or have the ability to increase what you have already given… please consider doing so before midnight tomorrow. The 139th Board’s ability to plan and execute on their vision and achieve their goals is reliant upon your support.

Thank you all for your openness, commitment and generosity. It is an honor to serve and represent the students and alumni of The Daily Pennsylvanian.

Happy New Year! See you in 2023!

Most respectfully,

Steven Molberger

Director of Development
