DP Investigative Journalism Award Established By Steve Stecklow ‘76, Philip Lentz, and John Daniszewski ‘79

We are excited to announce that through their generosity, DP alumni Steve Stecklow ‘76 and John Daniszewski ‘79, along with friend and colleague Philip Lentz, have established the Stecklow/Lentz/Daniszewski Prize for Investigative Journalism. This new student prize will be awarded annually to a DP journalist for their outstanding work in the area of investigative journalism in The Daily Pennsylvanian or its related publications. The winner of the prize will be selected by a committee of judges made up of DP alumni and will be awarded $1,000 at the DP awards ceremony, traditionally held in January.

The donors hope their new award will serve as inspiration for DP reporters, who are learning and exploring the craft of investigative journalism, an area of the DP’s editorial side where student interest has grown immensely in recent years.

We are grateful to Mr. Stecklow, Mr. Daniszewski and Mr. Lentz for their gift and appreciate their commitment to meeting the needs of our students and organization. Thank you!
